My iPhone 5 Review
Posted October 22, 2012
Being a long time Android user, I kind of surprised myself when I decided to take the plunge and preorder my first iPhone. What was the tipping point? I don’t think there was any particular tipping point. I think I’ve always wanted to take the plunge but there were a few things that were holding me back. I live in a Google world using GMail, Calendar, Drive, etc., so having an Android phone made sense. The question is, can a Google user live in the Apple world? After having the phone for almost a month, here is my review of the iPhone 5.
He just let it rip
Posted August 23, 2012
The other day I had to go to the Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA) to renew my parking permit. Because parking in the lot of the PPA office costs an arm and a leg, I decided to try to find metered parking around the area. After driving the around the block a few times, I finally found a spot. If you know how some of the parking works in Philadelphia, you park your car, and then you go to the parking machine and pay for your parking. As I’m pulling into the open spot, I see a man on the sidewalk, looking at his phone. After pulling into my spot, I get out of the car and I noticed that he had moved only a few feet forward still looking at his phone. He happened to be standing about a foot or two past the parking machine. I went up to the parking machine to pay for my parking and the man didn’t know I was there. How do I know he didn’t notice me? All of a sudden I hear a loud noise. It was the noise of the wind passing by. It was so loud that if he were on the phone, the other person on the other line would say, “What was that?” Right after he let it rip, he then noticed I was right behind him at the parking machine. What did he do after? He just moved right along, staring at his phone, not saying a word. I would like to think he was a little embarrassed and didn’t know what to say but maybe he just didn’t care. Who knows? Oh well, it was outdoors and I didn’t inhale. I’m still alive and life goes on. Just another day in Philly.
Apple Fanboy, Android User

On November 6, 2009 the original Motorola Droid was released. It was the first phone that I ever woke up for and went to Verizon store about 30 minutes before it opened. I joined 8 other people outside. I got that phone because the iPhone was only on AT&T. That phone served me well in the 2+ years I had it and helped me do things that the iPhone probably couldn’t do… like the time we were on vacation in Maine and I needed to fix something on the server. I was able to tether my phone to my laptop and fix it right there and then.
Coffee Shop Whiff

Occasionally you have some sketchy people who come into the coffee shop. A guy comes in and I wasn’t sure about him. He did buy a drink(I think) and was standing around looking at where he was going to sit. He then picked a seat and walked past me to his seat. What followed was a smell of someone who hadn’t showered in a little while. He then sat in the seat, coffee in hand, and stared into space. After ten minutes, he got up and walked out. Of course, as he walked out and the smell followed him out as well. Just another day at the office.
Isaac and Janet

I had the opportunity to 2nd shoot and be the assistant to the great Emily Ivey of Fresh Ivey Photography. After almost a year since the last wedding I shot, I temporarily came out of retirement to help out Emily and also help out my good friends Isaac and Janet. All these shots were shot with my Olympus E-PL1 with the Olympus 45mm f1.8.
FM Radio App for Droid Bionic
Posted November 16, 2011
Not too long after I bought my Droid Bionic, every cool phone in the world was either release or announced… the iPhone 4S, the Galaxy Nexus, Droid Razr. Looking back, I’m happy with my decision to get the Bionic. One thing that I found today was an FM Radio App. Apparently, older phones use this app but they for some reason omitted this from the Bionic. The app requires you to plug in your headphones because it uses the headphones as the FM antenna. I’m not sure if it’ll work with other Android phones but I’m enjoying my Bionic more and more. I should be finally releasing some apps as well in the next few months.
