I work at Starbucks

Posted July 15, 2011

I don’t know how to make coffee or an “Upside down Carmel Macchiato” but I definitely do work at Starbucks?  Which one?  Anyone.  One of the benefits of working for myself is that I have the flexibility of working anywhere.  My office of choice is usually Starbucks because I always know what to expect.  There are two things that I can count on…  the drinks are always going to taste the same and I’m always going to run into characters.

I’m going to start a new category on my blog just to record any of the happenings or characters I observe during my time at my office.  I’ve been wanting to do this for a while but today, all the characters seem to have come out today at the same time.

For example… couple in front of me today… orders 2 Naked Juice drinks, 2 Fruit Yogurt cups, 2 hot coffee drinks, and 2 bagels.  Old man sits next to me…  as two huge Venti Frappuccino’s.  I’m thinking, he’s waiting for someone.  He downs the first one.  Then sits around for a little bit, then downs the next one.  There were other characters out today.  I guess I’m one of the characters out today as well.  🙂

I’m a Mac

Posted July 1, 2011

I was talking to a client yesterday and told him I was on my Mac.  His response was… “Oh, you use your Mac for design.”  It got me thinking… people still think Macs are mainly for designer, photographers, videographers, etc.  I mainly use my Mac for programming.  The OS is just more stable and I love programming in a UNIX environment.  Oh, by the way, I use it for graphics too.  🙂

What’s my point?  No point.  Actually, maybe my point is, get a Mac.  🙂

Back to Normal (almost)

Posted June 21, 2011

We are almost moved into the new place and let’s just say that we are utterly exhausted.  I had to get out of the house and go into the city to attempt to get back into the work routine.  There’s still a lot to do but the light at the end of the tunnel is definitely in sight.  Leaving for California on Thursday.  Staying awake!

The best Cheesesteak: John’s Roast Pork

Posted June 9, 2011

I have found my new favorite cheesesteak in town.  It’s not Pat’s or Geno’s.  It’s John’s Roast Pork.  I’ve passed by it many times on the way to Home Depot or IKEA, but this time we actually made a point to go there.  We were not disappointed one bit.  What makes it my favorite?  Good bread, chopped steak that’s not dry, and cheese that is well melted.  The reason why a lot of people haven’t tried it yet is because it only opens on weekdays until 3pm.

This guy is probably already musically talented.  This video not only shows individual talent but it also shows how responsive the iPad is.

Good Karma Cafe

Posted May 25, 2011

I just found out that my favorite cafe, Good Karma Cafe opened another location on the other side of center city.  This location is 3 times as big as the other one.  This is my favorite new office.  Lots of seating, big tables, an outdoor seating area, and good coffee.  I might be coming downtown more often.
