Facebook’s New Terms of Service

Posted February 17, 2009

Recently, Facebook changed, reworded, whatever you want to call it. Basically the wording says, whatever you upload, put on Facebook, all your content, etc, Facebook has a right to do whatever they want with your content even if you cancel your account. Read this article from the Consumerist.

Here’s my opinion… Whenever I upload things to a website, whether it being a social network, online album, I already assume that they have some small print that they are already going to do anything they want with it. This is why I rarely upload files to Facebook.  Actually I haven’t ever uploaded pictures to Facebook other than my profile pictures.  Well, does this mean  you shouldn’t upload pictures?  No, I think it’s a great place to share photos and I hope you continue to do so.  Just, if you have a nice picture (basically something that you think you can make some money on), think twice about putting it up.  Also, don’t be surprised that one day you see your facebook pictures on some random website because Facebook sold it as a stock photo for a website.

Da Lakers

Posted February 12, 2009

lakersThe Lakers end the first part of the season with a tough loss to Utah, 113-109.  I’m very pleased with the how the season has gone on, especially with Bynum going down.  I think it’s still going to be tough and the road to the NBA finals still has to go through Boston.  Well, with the latest additions and hopefully Bynum coming back this time, they’ll be ready.  Either way, I still can’t watch some of the games.  It’s not that the games are bad or not exciting, but I get into it a little too much.  Sometimes, I’m content on watching highlights or a replay of the game knowing the outcome.  Oh well, just some random sport thoughts on a slow Thursday morning.

Sunny California

Posted February 4, 2009

weatherI’m back to my full day of work.  I got back to California a few days ago after being in some cold climates.  I’m not rubbing it in to people in other parts of the country.  Actually, I have quite a respect for people who are in cold weather areas right now.  You can rub it in during the rest of the year where the scenary and the seasons really come out.  With that said, I am glad that I’m back in sunny California.  I definitely had a great trip and something I definitely noticed being out of town, there were a more photo opportunities.  Being back home, I really need to go out of my way to find some things to shoot.  One thing I noticed was that I went HDR crazy on this latest trip.  One day I’ll go back to taking normal pictures.  Hmm… maybe more pictures of people too?
