The next PC for the family

Posted May 15, 2009

This is the trend the way of how PC’s seem to be going. My mom, who is the perfect example of how many people use computers, uses mainly two types of programs. She uses the web browser and Microsoft Office. This will be the next PC I buy for her. One day I’m going to look back at this post and laugh at how big this PC is.

Last full day in Boston

Posted May 6, 2009

[set_id=72157617797109820]

We slept in this morning as usual but started our day with a visit to Legal Sea Foods.  Surprisingly, my wife said that she liked it better than Boston Chowda Company.  I personally think that Legal’s chowder is a close second to Boston Chowda, but it’s a matter of taste and they are all good.  After lunch, we walked across the street to the New England Aquarium.  We didn’t really see anything new but it was still enjoyable.  After that, we hopped on the green line to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.  A very interesting place.  Unfortunately, we weren’t allowed to take pictures of that place.  Man, if I was able to and I had a tripod, I would really get some “money” shots there.  Tomorrow we leave for Columbus, OH for the weekend and then back home.  The weather turned out to be awesome today.

The best Chowda

Posted May 5, 2009

ChowdaThe best clam chowder is definitely at Boston Chowda Company at Quincy Market.  Definitely the best stuff.  I also had the lobster cake, but not as impressed.  That was for lunch.  After, we went to Mike’s Pastry for some dessert.  That was it for today.  It was rainy and very windy most of the day.  Tomorrow, we may go to a museum.

Basketball, pizza, and planning for tomorrow

Posted May 3, 2009

After planning basketball last night, what else would I do tonight but play more basketball.  After that, ate some pizza at Stone Hearth Pizza.  A little bit of planning for tomorrow’s Maine trip.  Nothing big.  Outlet shopping, a few lighthouses, maybe some lobster.  Expect some pictures tomorrow.

Another day in New England

Posted May 3, 2009

Forgot to write last night but just another day in New England.  Well, not just another day.  Congrats to Spencer and Jessica.  It was a sweet wedding.  Before that, we went out to brunch with a few people.  This time we went to Pops Restaurant.  Another delicious place.  I had smoked salmon on top of scrabbled eggs.  Other than that, May and I stayed at my brother’s place just to relax.  Traveling is tiring and we haven’t even done that much.  Okay, basketball at 3pm.  May is out with the girls.  Maybe we’ll do something tonight.  If not, Maine tomorrow with Sha and Jessica C.

the Lobsters are Back!

Posted May 1, 2009

img_5800We have returned back to Rockport!  Today we had a good time hanging with Jesse and Rebecca.  Of course, when we heard they were thinking about driving up Rockport, we were more than happy to tag along with them.  How was it the second time around?  Even better.  Despite the rain, it was still awesome, being with friends, eating fresh lobster.  Remember, when you go, go to Roy Moor Lobster company.  The people there are very friendly and the food is great.

In Cambridge

Posted April 30, 2009

menuHere I am again in Cambridge again.  This time the wifey is with me.  I think this trip will be a lot of revisiting to places that I went my last two visits… of course only the good places.  Tonight, we already made a visit to “Miracle of Science”, a great burger joint that my buddy Jeremy took me last time.  The picture to the left is not a periodical table, but the actual menu.  I got the cheesburger again.  Very good and very gourmet.  After that, we just hung out with friends, watching the Bull beat the Celtics in triple overtime.  Crazy game.  More updates coming.

Gearing up for my next trip

Posted April 29, 2009

mapI’m definitely excited for my next trip to Boston, MA, and then to Columbus, OH after that.  In the middle fo the Boston leg of the trip, we’ll be going up to Maine for the day to visit some places I visited last time.  Hopefully the weather will be better this time.  For this trip, I have my new (old, used lens from craigslist) Sigma 15mm Fisheye for all the nice panoramic shots and my cheap Garmin 1412 GPS navigation (from Costco) so I’m all ready to go.  Reviews of course will be coming after the trip.  I’m planning to not check in any bags and hopefully the wife will be okay with that as well.

smll.us launched!

Posted April 27, 2009

smllI’ve just launched my own URL shrinking service.  Why?  Just for the heck of it.  Some have asked, “what is a URL shrinker?”  Basically, if you have a long URL… you can just use a URL shrinking service and just give people a very short url.  For example, a CNN story on the swine flu, I created the following url…  http://smll.us/4df.  If you look at the url after you click on the link, it’s huge.
